It has amazed me for years that the New York radio market, the top prize in radio, has some of the worst music stations and some of the worst talk radio.

It’s like the DJs and personalities try their brains out to get here, then once they do, they lazily go through the motions (Insert NBA analogy here).

In my business, I am in the car often, and I skip though stations like crazy.

But one station I try to avoid is WFAN. My limit is about 45 seconds, longer if its an ad. How could a metro area such as ours have such pathetic sports talk? Even Boston’s is better.

Aside from being boring, grating, nonsensical, unfunny and often oh so completely wrong, Mike and the Mad Dog have a great program. Now Chris Russo is leaving. Will it help or harm the program?
