I am actually pleased that the TC okay’ed renting out the Community Center Atrium. This will probably move the break-even date of the Community Center forward to about, to, just guessing, 2115. It’s a big space with the main downside that the acoustics are similar to a really large bathroom.

I think that alcohol should have been permitted for events held outside of regular opening hours (with a large security deposit of course). I mean, how much damage could the Historical Society people do? I think we missed the boat here a little. We could have tested out a higher permit price when allowing for alcohol citing the cost of some “increased police patrols”.

Now we run the risk of cheap permits being sold and enduring ever-so-innocent “punchbowl spiking” incidents.

And we could have perhaps moved the break-even date forward to 2089.
