NJTransit, always hunting for some positive publicity, must have issued a press release about how they installed some cold weather starters in six diesel trains so that in cold weather they don’t have to idle through the night.

While it is nice that they will save on fuel, and it was grant money used, and it will be better for the environment…

Why the hell didn’t they get cold weather starters when they originally ordered the engines? Did they order them some August and forgot about “winter”? Yes, when they were ordered diesel fuel was a lot cheaper, but still.
