Every year we get the same nonsense about the plans to cut services of what people actually need…state police, bridge maintenance, snow plowing, firefighters, etc.

All so we’re cowed into crazy-high tax increases and keep the beast of government fed, glossing over the stupid crap that could be cut like administrative headcount and trips to Atlantic City for “meetings”.

But they’re starting slow in 2009…libraries.

I mean, we have to make it possible that our jobless and internet-less friends and neighbors can go downtown and log into Monster.com (when not accessing porn) and our kids can actually go and see what books actually look like, right?

So of course…let’s give them what they need!
