For a while early in the 00’s, I did some web design. While parts of the gigs were fun, the main reality was that you were a brand consultant, a business consultant, a copywriter, application developer and quality control tester.
And the customers often thought what you were doing was the equivalent of typing a Word document and would initially want to pay you that amount.
So, to help keep costs down, you give them them some options to take some shortcuts. Rather than the photoshoot or original artwork, you slap something together or grab something from iStockphoto or Shutterstock.
And while I would take steps to alter stock photos in Fireworks or Photoshop to make them somewhat custom…a lot of my colleagues obviously didn’t feel the same way.
So I found this funny.
